About Me
Peter Stringfellow is a native Californian who was raised in Los Angeles and then lived in the Bay Area for 20 years. He earned an Anthropology and Sociology degree at Kenyon College in Gambier, OH. Studies abroad included a year in India, Nepal and Tibet where he embraced the culture, studied the architecture, and learned the language.
A frequent visitor to Mexico for many years, Peter has now set his roots as a full time resident and new homeowner in Sayulita, Nayarit. Having gone through the home buying process in Mexico himself, he is well placed to share his first-hand experiences with his clients.
When he is not in the office or touring homes with clients, Peter is spending time with his family. He likes fishing, surfing, and traveling with his wife and two boys, ages 10 and 12. For himself, Peter likes unique workouts and time to breathe and meditate.

Peter was excellent
I came to MexHome not knowing how to buy a property. The entire team was great and when we got handed off to Peter because we were interested in making a move and not delaying he handled our tours and questions with grace and friendliness. He frequently checked in to make sure all was good throughout the entire process after we were handed off to the legal team after the offer. I cannot say enough good things about Peter Stringfellow. I reached out to Peter a couple of months before we came down to San Pancho on the recommendation of friends. We knew we wanted to make our retirement dreams a reality by purchasing a property in Sayulita or San Pancho. He sent links to properties and we discussed the likes and dislikes. A couple days before we flew down, Peter had made arrangements to see several properties so we hit the ground running.
He found a property that checked all of our boxes and we made an offer on a property in San Pancho in February 2020. As a result of Covid, our closing was delayed many many many months, but Peter kept me apprised of all the new developments along the way. Peter even got on a couple zoom calls!

It took us a long time to find what we were looking for, and could afford AND we live in California so could not be there all the time to look.
We bought our land site unseen by us, bc Peter walked the grounds and took multiple videos showing us the whole area. And he knew us well so could way he knew it was a good fit for us…which it was!
He also partnered us with a contractor to begin construction which was hugely helpful.
All in all, a great experience and we would highly recommend Peter to anyone looking for property, especially as foreigners.

Buying a house in a foreign country can be a daunting experience. For us It involved investing a large amount of money into a market that we didn’t totally understand, regulated by laws we weren’t familiar with, and with many of the required interactions in a foreign language. For us to proceed with such an undertaking with confidence we needed an expert guide, and Peter was this and more. He understood the area, the market, the risks. He was nuanced in his interactions when appropriate but was also assertive and tenacious when needed. We always felt like he was 100% our advocate. We first met Peter when my wife and myself decided to retire and move to Sayulita a couple of years ago. We knew we wanted to buy a home but knew nothing about real estate in Mexico. Peter came highly recommended, and through him we found the perfect place to live. The next hurdle we faced was opening a bank account here. Believe it or not it took two months. I explained our delema to Peter and asked if he could possibly help. He looked into it and told us that the approval came from someone in Bucerius not here in Sayulita. We had already started our remodeling projects and we were quickly running out of cash, (which is what all of the contractors want here.)
