The food scene focuses on fresh ingredients and world-class catch-of-the-day seafood. Located in Bucerias, less than 10 minutes from Arekas Condos at Flamingos in Nuevo Vallarta, is Kensho on Calle Lazaro Cardenas 108. Kensho is a delicious dinner option and our recommendation for one of the best local restaurants. Offering a traditional Thai menu with other Asian-inspired favorites, there is something that everyone is bound to love. Because of its lighter fare, a hip atmosphere caters to the vibrant fresh flavors. This is the perfect food for eating in tropical weather. We had the Thai mango salad, traditional red curry, and sticky tapioca for dessert. With fresh twists on old favorites, they created tasty plates we could not get enough of. A definite crowd-pleaser!

Shopping

Nuevo Vallarta has easy conveniences to its fantastic real estate, making it a desirable location for locals and visitors. With easy access to goods and services, you do not have to go far to find two grocery stores and a mall. Nuevo Vallarta has great shopping for food (including a large imported food grocery store), home goods, jewelry, trinkets, vacation mementos, and clothes. For large grocery stores, Mega and La Comer are within minutes of Arekas Condos in Flamingos. Both stores offer a wide selection of national and imported goods with a bakery, butcher, and large produce selections. Our recommendation is La Comer, which has a more extensive selection of gourmet and imported products that cater to all diets and preferences. Additionally, they have a well-stocked spirit and wine selection.

Nuevo Vallarta has a mall, Paradise Plaza Shopping Center, that offers shopping options. One of the best stores is Sunrise Market. They are one of the largest imported food markets that carry all your favorite goodies made outside of Mexico. There is also a large indoor kid’s play area and a food court. The rest of the stores are boutiques that carry one-of-a-kind products from clothes to jewelry and leather goods.
