The community of Rincon de Guayabitos is a bustling beach town located on the Pacific coast about an hour north of Puerto Vallarta. The name, meaning “the corner of little guava trees”, refers to the guava orchards that once dominated the landscape. The tranquil waters of Jaltemba Bay and the mile-long Playa Guayabitos beach make Rincon de Guayabitos one of the hottest destinations of the Riviera Nayarit for Mexican nationals.

The development of this former fishing village began some 30 years ago with the construction of several small hotels. Today, Rincon’s busy Zona Hotelera has taken over most of the south end of the beach.
