The fishing town of Boca de Tomatlán, just south of Mismaloya, is the main water taxi departure point for South Shore destinations such as Quimixto, Las Animas and Yelapa. “Boca”, as the village is affectionately known by the locals, can be easily reached from Vallarta by local bus, car or water taxi. It is also the trailhead for a popular and picturesque hiking trail heading south to Las Animas beach.
Most Boca de Tomatlán real estate opportunities are homes that were built between the highway and the shoreline. These homes are mostly built on cliffs and offer dramatic views of the bay.
