La Maladena is located at Av. Fransisco Medina Ascencio 225. One of the best restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, this gem is also minutes from Harbor 171. This is an exquisite example of elevated Mexican cruise mixed with an international flair that wows all. This high-end restaurant is known for its fine cuts of meat, great cocktail selections, and attention to detail making its food refined and taking their tastes to the next level. Additionally, everything is super tasty and they have a menu that spans Mexican favorites (and ours too) like aguachile to high-end cuts like wagyu beef. A wonderful atmosphere with impeccable service from start to finish rounded out our night. Because of this, it is a must-try for all that want to partake in a memorable dinner that will leave you wanting to come back again and again.
What To Do 
With its proximity to the Malecon and the Pacific Ocean, there is something for everyone. The variety is immense from walking down the Malecon and looking at sculptures to seeing our favorite, the traditional Mexican voladores. A slice of culture, we experienced seeing a rain dance passed down from the Mesoamericans. They show this through traditions that are still practiced today. Four men in traditional clothing climb a 100-foot pole and dive off. Attached to a rope, they spin around the pole until they reach the bottom. This is a truly one-of-a-kind experience that makes this the heart of the city. Additionally, there is a lot of art for sale on the Malecon and great shopping too.
Where to Shop
Shopping is fun here! With many options, there is an excellent variety of things for sale. This ranges from vacation mementos, and one-of-a-kind clothes, to art, and jewelry. The shops around and on the Malecon cater to everyone. We loved discovering the outstanding craftsmanship in Huichol art. This is a form of art traditional that is native people in Nayarit. It is a breathtaking combination of 2D and 3D art. Many amazing animal sculptures and other carvings are all colorfully beaded. Additionally, we also enjoyed poking around the Rio Cuale Mercado. Officially called The Mercado Municipal Rio Cuale, this was a good place to shop. We found everything from vacation mementos to snacks and even alcohol. This a fun experience to walk through on the south side of the Malecon. It is an excellent mix of everyday life and souvenirs.
